Kalepo Camp is owned by an amazing couple, Rob and Storm Mason, veterans in the safari industry and the ex-managers of Kenya’s exclusive Sirai House. With a vested interest in conservation of the environment, a preservation of authentic culture and protection of wildlife, Kalepo Camp is designed for families or small groups who are looking to enjoy an exclusive, authentic Kenyan experience, in one of Kenya’s most beautiful locations, while learning about the amazing Samburu Culture; where people and wildlife co-exist as they have done for centuries. A few days ago, we had the great pleasure of speaking with Storm Mason, the owner and director of Kalepo Camp. When we come across someone who lives and works with the same passion and values, we know this is the foundation for a great partnership!
Our half hour meeting turned into a two hour chat and we felt we were chatting with an old friend!
Storm and her husband Rob realised their dream of building their own luxury camp. Finding the perfect spot in the Mathews Mountain range, they have lovingly created a unique and beautiful camp in a pristine and incredible environment. With the owners sheer enthusiasm and attention to the fine details, we are happily assured that our guests staying at Kalepo will have an amazing and most memorable experience while being thoroughly spoilt.
At Ahnasa Destinations, the core of our ethos is conservation of the environment, wildlife and the communities – “Responsible Tourism”. Kalepo Camp fits very well into our portfolio. The location of the property has been carefully selected to protect the pristine wilderness area and working with conservationists such as Ewaso Lions to monitor and protect the wildlife in the area. Rob, Storm and their team have cultivated a wonderful relationship with the local Samburu communities and are supporting them through various efforts at Kalepo.

Kalepo Camp is a luxury tented camp in Northern Kenya. This exclusive-use camp consists of 3 luxury tented suites and one 2 bedroom family tented suite. The tents are private and nestled in a beautiful grove of Acacia trees; each tent overlooks the dry river bed and enjoys sweeping views of the Mathews Mountains.
The camp has a tastefully designed mess tent, private “beach”, library and boutique shop. They also have their very own shamba where they grow all their own organic herbs and vegetables. The camp waterhole and hide provides guests the opportunity to enjoy intimate wildlife encounters in comfort!
Guest tents are simple, yet elegant with neutral colors in keeping with the natural environment, carefully designed for ultimate comfort. Each have a large Emperor size bed (which can be split into twin beds) and the highest quality imported cotton linen. The cool floors and beautiful decor all lend itself to a luxurious experience.
The open air en-suite bathrooms have a double basin, flush toilet and hot showers with permanent running water. High quality finishes along with the eco-friendly Africology bathroom products and views of the beautiful natural surroundings, make for pure indulgence.
The newly constructed swimming pool, along with a wood-fired pizza oven and an outdoor bar area, all goes towards a truly wonderful stay at Kalepo.
