“All I wanted to do now was to get back to Africa. We had not left it yet, but when I would wake in the night, I would lie, listening, homesick for it already”
– Ernest Hemingway, Green Hills of Africa

LARGE TUSKERS
Between Tsavo & Amboseli, the Chyulu Hills are part of the migratory routes for the Tuskers. ‘Tuskers’ are bull elephants whose tusks weigh in excess of 45 kilograms (100 pounds). The Chyulu Hills is possibly one of the best places to see Africa’s largest remaining Tuskers as they move between the breeding herds of Tsavo & Amboseli.
THE KISULA CAVES COMPLEX
When visiting Chyulu Hills, the chance to explore one of the deepest lava tubes in the world is not to be missed. The lava tubes are an attraction that has secured the Chyulu Hills on the world map. The numerous lava tube caves, collectively known as Kisula Caves, criss cross the depths of Chyulu Hills. The Upper Leviathan cave, at 11.5km long, is considered one of the longest and deepest lava tubes in the world.
